Extensive Reading Seminar

The JALT Extensive Reading SIG (Special Interest Group) and Hokkaido JALT
are co-sponsoring the third annual Extensive Reading In Japan Seminar
on July 4th.

Recognizing ETJ as a sister-organization, ETJ members will be
admitted for the JALT member price (500 yen).

Marc Helgesen is the Plenary Speaker. Other speakers include Ben
Shearon, Atsuko Takase, Tom Robb, Eleanor Kane, Hitoshi Nishizawa,

MAISAKA (Aichi/Shizuoka border)

The Hamamatsu and Toyohashi chapters of JALT will be holding a summer
professional development seminar on Sunday, July 18th in Maisaka on beautiful
lake Hamana on the Aichi-Shizuoka boarder just a few minutes walk from JR
Bentenjima station. The theme of this seminar is "Learner's Acquisition of
Language at Different Stages of Development" with presentations on all ages of
learners.

There will be a full day of programs and featured speakers from JALT SIGs such
as CUE, Bilingualism, and Jr. & Sr. High school, as well local presenters and
poster presentations. Also included are educational displays, ETJ Aichi /
Shizuoka & Nagoya Expo displays, a job & events information board, and more.

JALT members - free
Non-members- 2,000 yen

Registration starts at 9:00 am and presentations continue to 7:00 pm.
