There are over 30 schools listed here now. The best way to use the list is to scroll down to see all of the schools listed.
Use the Greenlist as a starting point. Then do your own research on the school.
Check out the school`s website and ask around if possible. Try to get a range of opinions from bad to good, because the truth probably lies somewhere in between.
Don`t bother with the forums on teaching. in Japan. Pretty much all of them are too
negative. It seems to be the nature of forums that people use them to complain.
Get to the library, read some books on teaching in Japan, then check out the schools as much as you can on the internet, keeping in mind the kind of work place you would like. Also read some of the many articles on the internet
on teaching in Japan, by doing a google.com search.
Good luck in your search, and I hope the Greenlist makes it a little less
stressful, and helps you to land the job you want.
I wish there had been a Greenlist when I came to Japan. Instead I got a boss that liked to cut up live goldfish and feed them to his pirhanas (no joke!).
I hope you won`t experience the same!
I don`t plan on updating the Greenlist much in the future. I hope some other motivated person will continue the project though, by creating a Greenlist 2.
If you do, or know of someone who has, Email me and let me know as I can post the link to the new site here.
Hope this has helped more than a few of you!
